The Calgary Science Centre, aka Telus World of Science. Lots of cool things to do for kids and grownups too!
Spring Hours (not sure what fall hours will be): 10:00 am to 5:00 pm (Friday-Sunday). Admission: Under 2: Free, Children (3-17) $12.00, Adult $15, Family $49.00. Check their website for up-to-date hours & admission.

Please note, due to parking restrictions (ie, you have to pay for parking) I'd highly recommend taking the train downtown and walking in (the train from the NE goes to 10th street, from there it's about 2 blocks walk).

Also nearby is Shaw Millenium Park.

Not sure what to say about this one. I haven't been up the Tower in *years*, but it's something that everyone should do. You can either pay to take the elevator up, or walk the stairs for free, but there's 802 steps.
Hours are typically 9:00am - 10:00pm (adjusted seasonally), and admission (elevation) fees are: Children (5 and Under) $5.00, Youth (17 and Under) $9.95, Adult (18 to 64 years of age) $12.95, Mature Adult (Over 65 years of age) $10.95.

Unique features/things to do: Glass floor, Revolving Restaurant (reservations recommended), Gift shop, photo opportunities. Be sure to take your camera + binoculars!

The special exhibit that will be in town in time for the wedding is "Belonging: A Place for Everyone", featuring The Quilt of Belonging. "At 120 feet in length The Quilt of Belonging features 263 blocks each representing every immigrant culture and First Nations group in Canada."

Year-round exhibits include: Many Faces, Many Paths: Art of Asia, Niitsitapiisinni: Our Way of Life, Treasures of the Mineral World, Where Symbols Meet; A Celebration of West African Achievement, Learning Through Art: A Journey Through Time II.
